April 2000

Steelforce commences operations as a distributor of steel products in Australia.

March 2005

Steelforce Trading established to source product directly from offshore mills.

Oct 2005

Steelforce acquires 50% of Sydsteel, a Sydney based distributor.

  • Steelforce forms a Joint Venture to build a pipe and tube mill in Dalian China.

March 2006

First shipments of tubular products arrive in Australia from the Dalian Mill.

July 2006

  • Next Capital, a Sydney based private equity firm, acquire a 55% share of Steelforce Group. Steelforce acquires the remaining 50% of SydSteel.
  • Steelforce buys out its Chinese JV partners 25% interest in the Dalian Mill.

November 2006

Melbourne Branch (Dandenong) opened.
Perth Branch opened.

October 2007

Commissioned a second mill in Dalian China, increasing our capacity to 120,000 tonnes per year

February 2009

A second Melbourne Branch (Coolaroo) opened.

July 2009

Relocation of the Corporate Head Office and Brisbane distribution facility to the Port of Brisbane.

October 2017

Two Melbourne distribution facilities at Dandenong and Coolaroo are merged into a single purpose-built facility at Derrimut.

April 2019

  • Due to consistent growth the Brisbane distribution facility & Corporate Head Office move to a new larger state of the art site at Lytton.
  • GFG Alliance, through Ā InfraBuild,acquires Steelforce with the Dalian Mill becoming part of the Austube Mills business.

November 2019

Sydney branch is relocated to a larger purpose-built facility at Horningsea Park.

January 2021

The Perth branch is moved to a new larger facility in Forrestfield to cater for further growth in demand.
